CoronaVirus

As many of you will have seen over the weekend the government have been tightening up precautionary measures to prevent the spread of Covid 19. The advice to schools remains the same at this stage with the main focus being on hygiene. It is important that any children that are displaying signs of illness are kept home from school. In particular if your child has a cough, shortness of breath or a temperature they should not be at school.

Please do not send your child to school if they have any of these symptoms.

If you have any concerns contact either healthline or your g.p for further advice.

Also, as the situation is continually changing with Covid 19 and it’s management within NZ the best place to get the most up-to-date

information is directly from the ministry of health website. www.health.govt.nz

Pupil Absence

Please notify the school (07 573 7035) if your child will be absent. This ensures the safety of your child during the hours of school.

If your child will be absent try out our new Skool Loop app to report your child’s absence. If you haven’t downloaded it yet please leave a message on the school answer phone or text 027 5614 170 your child’s name and either medical or family as the reason for absence - Thank you.

School Bus

Rangiuru School operates its own bus with two bus runs.  First run is the country run heading out to the intersection of Wilson Road South and State Highway 2.

The second run is through Te Puke township stopping in 9 locations.

Stationery 2021

In 2021 we will supply stationery to classes in bulk rather than individual packs. The bulk buying of these items allows us to obtain the most competitive pricing available while ensuring quality and consistency of product.

We have tried to keep prices down and have subsidised some of the costs, meaning there will be a standard price for all classes of $45 per student for 2021. This price does not include headphones and a Homepack which you will need to provide and send along with your child.

The stationery charge will be payable through the School Office early in 2021 (or on the first day of school) or via internet banking 12-3407-0040841-00 anytime from now. Please use your child's name as a reference.

We will also continue to use Mathletics, which is largely funded by the school, however will incur a fee of $40

per student Year 4 and up.

Lamb and Calf Day

Our school holds this event in October on an annual basis. It is a unique opportunity for all students to care for a lamb/goat/calf that is born in July and show them off at the school competition. Students who place 1st, 2nd or 3rd in the school competition win entry into the Te Puke Group day which is attended by all other schools in the Te Puke District. Group day is held at the Te Puke A & P Showgrounds.

For those students who wish to participate in the Lamb and Calf Day but don’t have access to a calf/goat/lamb the school may have contacts to help provide an animal to care for. We do encourage our students to enter this competition as it gives them an experience full of learning opportunities that can’t be gained in the classroom.

Our school day also includes baking, flower arrangements and construction competitions to help to make this a fun event for everyone.
